Washer Repair — Book a Visit Today

A washer quits at the worst moment. Usually mid-cycle, with a drum full of water and towels. What breaks around here is fairly predictable: drain pumps clogged with sand and pet hair, lid switches and door locks worn out, drive belts stretched, worn bearings groaning through spin, and control boards knocked silly by a summer lightning surge. Humidity does not help either, and neither does hard well water building scale in the valves. A visit starts with us running the machine, listening, and reading any error code. We open the panel, test the part that actually failed, and explain what we found in plain words before anything is replaced. We work on all major brands as an independent shop. Call us and describe what you hear.

Washer Repair — residential washer being serviced

The washer symptoms we hear most

  • It won't drain — water just sits there Blocked drain pump, clogged filter, kinked or backed-up drain hose
  • Spin cycle sounds like a jet taking off Worn drum bearings, failing shock absorbers, or a loose tub support
  • Walks across the laundry room Unbalanced load sensing, broken suspension rods, or unlevel feet on a sloped floor
  • Fills forever and never starts Restricted inlet valve screens, low water pressure, or a bad pressure switch
  • Dead panel after a storm Surge-damaged main control board, tripped outlet, or burned line filter

Safe things to check first

Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.

  • 1 Verify the outlet has power by plugging in a lamp or resetting the GFCI and breaker.
  • 2Look behind the machine for a drain hose that got crushed, kinked, or shoved too far down the standpipe.
  • 3Open the small access door at the bottom front and check the pump filter for coins, sand, and lint.
  • 4Set a level on top and make sure all four feet sit firm on the floor with no rocking.

Washer Repair — quick answers

My washer stops mid-cycle. Is that the board?

Not always. A lid switch, door lock, or drain problem will pause a cycle to protect the machine. We test the simple parts first, then move to the control board only if the wiring and switches check out fine.

Do you work on front-load and top-load washers?

Both. Front-loaders bring door boots, locks, and bearing wear. Top-loaders bring lid switches, clutches, and drive components. We service all major brands as an independent company and carry common parts for each style.

Why does my washer smell musty?

Florida humidity plus a front-load door gasket equals mildew. Water sits in the boot folds and the drain filter. Cleaning both helps. If the smell returns fast, the drain path or sump may be holding standing water.

Can a lightning surge really kill a washer?

Yes. Modern washers run on a control board, and a nearby strike can burn the board or the line filter while the motor stays fine. Symptoms include a dead panel, random codes, or cycles that will not start.

Should I repair or replace an older washer?

We tell you what failed and how the rest of the machine looks. If the tub, motor, and cabinet are sound, a single part usually makes sense. If bearings and the board both went, replacement may be the smarter call.

How do I prepare for the appointment?

Clear a path to the machine and pull laundry out if you can. Bail standing water if it is safe. Have the model number handy, usually on the door frame or back panel. Then call us with what you noticed.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the noise

Describe what you see, hear, or smell. Buzzing, leaking, burning, or dead silence. Model number helps if you can find the sticker. We ask a few questions and book a window that fits your day.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose in person

A technician comes to your kitchen or laundry room, tests the machine, and finds the actual failed part. You hear what went wrong in plain words, then decide whether repair or replacement makes better sense.

  3. Step 3

    Repair and retest

With your approval we complete the work, then run the appliance through a real cycle before packing up. Floors get wiped, packaging leaves with us, and you get care tips for our salt air and storms.

Why homeowners call us

  • North Florida conditionsCoastal humidity rusts drain pans. Salt air eats at outdoor-adjacent dryer vents. Lightning surges fry control boards mid-storm. We see these failures constantly and know which part to check first instead of guessing our way through.
  • Independent shopWe are not tied to any manufacturer, so we service refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers, washers, and dryers from most major brands. Our advice comes from what your machine needs, not from a brand sales script.
  • Snowbird schedulesEmpty houses hide problems. An icemaker that flooded in March, a fridge that quit in July. We handle season-open checks and season-close shutdowns, and we can coordinate with a neighbor or property manager.
  • Straight answersSome machines are worth fixing. Some are past it. If a repair does not make sense for the age and condition of your unit, we say that out loud so you can spend your money somewhere better.
  • All major brands, gas & electricWhirlpool, Samsung, LG, GE, Maytag, Bosch, KitchenAid and more — as an independent repair company.
  • Straight answersIf it isn't worth repairing, we'll say so — often on the phone.
