Refrigerator Repair — Book a Visit Today

We repair refrigerators that aren't holding temperature, anywhere in our Florida service area. Most calls come down to a handful of parts: a failed evaporator fan, a defrost heater or thermostat that stopped cycling, a leaking door gasket, a compressor relay cooked by a summer lightning surge, or a condenser coil packed with dust and pet hair. A refrigerator quits quietly, so you notice soft ice cream first, then milk that smells wrong a day early. A visit starts with temperature readings in both compartments. We listen to the fan, check airflow at the vents, pull the panel if the frost pattern points that way, and test the sealed system controls. Then we tell you plainly what part failed and what it takes to fix it. Call us and describe what you hear.

The refrigerator symptoms we hear most

  • "Fridge is warm but the freezer is freezing" The air path is blocked: evaporator fan motor, frost built up over the coil, or a damper control stuck shut.
  • "It runs all day and never shuts off" Dirty condenser coils, a failing condenser fan, a bad thermostat, or a door seal letting humid air in.
  • "There's water pooling under the crisper drawers" Clogged defrost drain tube, usually iced solid. Sometimes a drain pan cracked from age.
  • "The ice maker stopped filling" Frozen fill tube, failed water inlet valve, low line pressure, or a bad ice maker module.
  • "It clicks every few minutes and then stops" Compressor start relay or overload device, sometimes surge-damaged. Occasionally the compressor itself.

Safe things to check first

Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.

  • 1Pull the plug for a full minute and plug it back in, since some control boards recover from a surge that way.
  • 2Look at the vents inside both compartments and clear any food or bags pressed against them.
  • 3Vacuum the coils behind or beneath the unit if dust and pet hair have built into a mat.
  • 4Close the door on a dollar bill and tug it. If it slides out easily, the gasket is not sealing.

Refrigerator Repair — quick answers

How soon should I call if the freezer is still cold?

Sooner is better. A warm fresh food side with a cold freezer usually means airflow trouble, and that frost keeps growing. Food in the freezer buys you a little time, but the failed part will not heal on its own. Reach us.

Should I move my food out before the visit?

Move anything that has already softened to a cooler with ice. Leave the rest. We may need the doors open for stretches, and a mostly empty compartment makes it easier to reach panels, vents, and the evaporator cover behind the freezer wall.

Can a lightning storm really kill a refrigerator?

Yes, and Florida sees plenty of them. A surge often takes out the control board or the compressor start relay while the rest of the machine looks fine. The unit may light up and do nothing at all. A surge protector on the outlet helps for next time.

Why does my refrigerator sweat inside during summer?

Humid air is getting in. Coastal and inland summers here push moisture through any gap in a worn door gasket, and every door opening adds more. Condensation on shelves and walls points toward the seal, the door hinge alignment, or a defrost problem.

Is a loud humming or buzzing normal?

Some sound is normal. A steady low hum is usually the compressor. Rattling, grinding, or a hum that rises and falls often means a condenser or evaporator fan blade hitting ice, or a bearing wearing out. Describe the noise when you call.

Do you work on built-in and side-by-side models?

We handle standard top and bottom freezers, side-by-sides, French doors, and built-in column units from all major brands as an independent shop. Tell us the brand and roughly how old it is, and we will bring the parts most likely to be needed.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the noise

Describe what you see, hear, or smell. Buzzing, leaking, burning, or nothing at all. The model number helps if you can find the sticker. We'll ask a few questions and book a window that fits your day.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose in person

A technician comes to your kitchen or laundry room, tests the machine, and finds the part that actually failed. You'll hear what went wrong in plain words, then you decide whether repair or replacement makes better sense.

  3. Step 3

    Repair and retest

With your approval we finish the work and run the appliance through a real cycle before we pack up. Floors get wiped and the packaging leaves with us. You also get care tips for our salt air and storms.

Why homeowners call us

  • North Florida conditionsCoastal humidity rusts drain pans, and salt air chews on dryer vents near an outside wall. Lightning surges kill control boards in the middle of a storm. We see these failures constantly, so we know which part to check first instead of guessing.
  • Independent shopWe aren't tied to any manufacturer. We service refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers, washers, and dryers from most major brands, and our advice comes from what your machine needs rather than a brand sales script.
  • Snowbird schedulesAn empty house hides problems. An icemaker floods in March, or a fridge quits in July and nobody knows. We do season-open checks and season-close shutdowns, and we can coordinate with a neighbor or your property manager.
  • Straight answersSome machines are worth fixing and some are past it. If a repair doesn't make sense for the age and condition of your unit, we'll say so out loud, and you can put that money somewhere better.
  • All major brands, gas & electricIndependent service on Whirlpool, LG, Samsung, GE, Maytag, Bosch, KitchenAid and the rest.
  • Straight answersIf replacing beats repairing, you hear it from us first.
