Dryer Repair — Book a Visit Today

Wet towels after two full cycles. A thump that shakes the laundry room wall. Burning smell when the drum spins. Dryers fail in ways you can hear and smell, and Florida humidity makes a weak dryer look even worse. Common culprits: a snapped belt, worn drum rollers, a blown thermal fuse, a bad heating element, a clogged vent run, or a control board hit by a lightning surge. A visit starts with your description, then we test heat, airflow, and the motor circuit, and we check the vent path from drum to wall. You hear what part failed and what it takes to fix it. Call us and tell us the sound or smell you noticed.

Dryer Repair — residential dryer being serviced

The dryer symptoms we hear most

  • "Clothes come out damp every time" Restricted vent, weak airflow, or a failing heating element or moisture sensor.
  • "It runs but there's no heat at all" Blown thermal fuse, open heating element, bad thermostat, or half-lost 240V power.
  • "Something is banging around inside" Worn drum rollers, a loose idler pulley, or a cracked drum glide.
  • "Smells hot, almost like burning lint" Lint packed near the heater housing or blower — stop using it and unplug.
  • "Drum won't turn, motor just hums" Broken belt, seized motor bearing, or a jammed blower wheel.

Safe things to check first

Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.

  • 1Pull the lint screen and rinse it under hot water to see if a film of fabric softener is blocking airflow.
  • 2Look outside at the vent flap while the dryer runs — it should be pushing warm air, not barely fluttering.
  • 3Make sure the door latches fully, since a worn door switch or a stray sock can keep the cycle from starting.
  • 4Check the breaker panel for a half-tripped double breaker, which leaves the drum spinning with no heat.

Dryer Repair — quick answers

Why does my dryer take three cycles to dry one load?

Almost always airflow. Lint builds up in the hose, the wall duct, or the outside flap, so moist air stays inside the drum. A weak heating element or tired blower wheel can do it too. We test both before recommending parts.

Is a burning smell an emergency?

Treat it that way. Stop the cycle, unplug the dryer, and leave the door open. Lint packed near the heater can scorch. Don't run another load until someone has opened the cabinet and cleared the housing.

Can lightning damage a dryer?

Yes. Summer storms send surges through house wiring, and electronic dryers have control boards that take the hit. Symptoms include a dead panel, a cycle that won't advance, or random error codes. Boards and relays are often repairable.

Do you clean the vent line as part of a repair?

We inspect the full path from the dryer to the exterior wall, because a repair won't hold if airflow is choked. Clearing the accessible run is part of the visit. Long attic or roof runs we'll discuss with you first.

Gas or electric — do you handle both?

Both. Electric units usually fail at the element, thermal fuse, or thermostat. Gas units fail at the igniter, flame sensor, or gas valve coils. We carry common parts for each and diagnose by testing, not guessing.

Should I repair a ten-year-old dryer?

Often yes. Belts, rollers, fuses, igniters, and elements are wear items, and the cabinet and motor usually outlast them. If the drum is cracked or the motor is seized, we'll say so plainly so you can decide.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the noise

Describe what you see, hear, or smell. Buzzing, leaking, burning, or dead silence. Model number helps if you can find the sticker. We ask a few questions and book a window that fits your day.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose in person

A technician comes to your kitchen or laundry room, tests the machine, and finds the actual failed part. You hear what went wrong in plain words, then decide whether repair or replacement makes better sense.

  3. Step 3

    Repair and retest

With your approval we complete the work, then run the appliance through a real cycle before packing up. Floors get wiped, packaging leaves with us, and you get care tips for our salt air and storms.

Why homeowners call us

  • North Florida conditionsCoastal humidity rusts drain pans. Salt air eats at outdoor-adjacent dryer vents. Lightning surges fry control boards mid-storm. We see these failures constantly and know which part to check first instead of guessing our way through.
  • Independent shopWe are not tied to any manufacturer, so we service refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers, washers, and dryers from most major brands. Our advice comes from what your machine needs, not from a brand sales script.
  • Snowbird schedulesEmpty houses hide problems. An icemaker that flooded in March, a fridge that quit in July. We handle season-open checks and season-close shutdowns, and we can coordinate with a neighbor or property manager.
  • Straight answersSome machines are worth fixing. Some are past it. If a repair does not make sense for the age and condition of your unit, we say that out loud so you can spend your money somewhere better.
  • All major brands, gas & electricWhirlpool, Samsung, LG, GE, Maytag, Bosch, KitchenAid and more — as an independent repair company.
  • Straight answersIf it isn't worth repairing, we'll say so — often on the phone.
